Review of Employment Stabilization Package confirmed

The Ministry of Finance and Economic Management has confirmed that a review and payment of arrears of the employment stabilization package is taking place.

This review and payment of arrears has been confirmed by the Director General of Finance, August Letlet.

Mr Letlet made this known after an enquiry by Daily Post on the issue of variation or review to the original list of businesses that are qualified to access this special package that has been created by Government as a result of the effects of COVID-19 on the national economy, affecting businesses where some have laid off staff and others have indicated that they will be doing the same.

The Director General also confirmed that payments for April, under the employment stabilization package, have been approved for release as of Thursday this week.

Members of the business community are encouraged to resubmit their application for consideration as part of the government’s economic stimulus package.
