Participants from the Department of Finance and Treasury, National Bank of Vanuatu and Vodafone Vanuatu have completed training focused on strategic leadership and its role in organisational decision-making.
The training, titled The Essence of Strategic Leadership, was facilitated by BTrained Consulting, based in Bengaluru, India, and brought together participants from the public and private sectors.
BTrained Consulting Regional Director Arif Basha said finance was involved in all organisational activities and business decisions.
He said managers had a responsibility to professionally manage strategic leadership within their organisations and that the programme provided participants with tools and knowledge to identify, analyse, evaluate, manage and report on related risks.
The training also explored how strategic leadership works and how participants could become involved in the process.
Held at Ramada Resort in Port Vila, the programme included case studies, activities, tools and templates, with a focus on practical and interactive learning.
The programme was facilitated by Jay Chander, a Fellow Chartered Accountant and risk practitioner with 40 years of professional and practical experience.
“There were 20 participants in total. They tell me there has never been this kind of training in Vanuatu before,” Mr Chander said.
BTrained Consulting is an international company that provides business and corporate training in countries around the world. It is represented in Vanuatu by Mr Basha, who attended the programme on behalf of Group Managing Director Shaik Soniya.
