VCCI charts future with Strategic Plan 2026–2028

The Vanuatu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) officially launched its Strategic Plan 2026–2028 in Port Vila on Friday, 13 February 2026, outlining a clear roadmap to strengthen private sector development and improve service delivery to members over the next three years.

The launch was attended by senior government officials, members of the diplomatic corps, development partners, and private sector stakeholders, reflecting strong national and international support for Vanuatu’s business community.

Although the Minister for Trade and Commerce, Samson Samsen, was unable to attend, his address was delivered on his behalf by the Acting Director General (DG) of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MoTC), Joe Ligo. In his remarks, the Acting DG reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to collaborating with VCCI to advance business growth and economic resilience.

Acting DG Ligo also announced that the MoTC would provide VCCI with two vehicles—one in Port Vila and one in Luganville—to support outreach and member services across both locations. This contribution will strengthen the Chamber’s capacity to deliver programmes and engage effectively with businesses nationwide.

VCCI General Manager (GM) Wilmaraia Sinumila presented the priorities of the Strategic Plan 2026–2028, outlining the Chamber’s focus on advocacy, member services, institutional strengthening, and improved systems to better serve the private sector.

The ceremonial cake cutting to mark the launch was performed by Acting DG Ligo, First Political Advisor Marcellino Pipite, VCCI Council President Antoine Boudier, and GM Sinumila.

The Strategic Plan 2026–2028 positions VCCI to play a stronger, more coordinated role in supporting businesses and contributing to national economic growth in the years ahead.
