Hundreds of customers left the NBV Mi Tumoro Vanuatu (MTV) Travel Expo last week with smiles, travel packages, and heavily discounted deals, taking advantage of the 50% specials offered by Air Vanuatu and Vanuatu Ferry.
The two-day expo, held on Tuesday 23 and Wednesday 24 September, brought together 40 tourism operators from Santo, Tanna, Malekula, Efate, and Port Vila. The event provided locals with the chance to secure exclusive travel offers on accommodations, tours, and activities, while boosting sales and bookings for participating businesses.
Organisers described the event as a growing business-to-consumer platform, connecting local operators in accommodation, tours, hotel transfers, and transport services with domestic travelers. It coincided with the Vanuatu Made Tradeshow 2025, broadening the “support local” initiative beyond crafts, music, and food to include tourism experiences owned and operated by Ni-Vanuatu.
From cultural villages and diving trips to eco-tours and transfers, the expo showcased the diversity of services that make up the country’s tourism industry. Operators reported overwhelming positive feedback and strong business results across the two days, with Air Vanuatu and Vanuatu Ferry highlighting particularly strong sales.
Building on this year’s success, organisers have committed to re-engaging with partners and sponsors for the next edition, aiming to further strengthen Vanuatu’s position as a must-visit destination for domestic travelers.
The Vanuatu Tourism Office acknowledged the support of its major partners and sponsors: the National Bank of Vanuatu, Vanuatu Skills Partnership, Air Vanuatu, Vanuatu Ferry Ltd, and Vanuatu Beverage Limited. Other supporting partners included the Ministry of Trade and Commerce, Department of Industry, Vanuatu Made, Department of Tourism, Pacific Group Consultancy, Breakas Beach Resort, Havannah Eco Lodge, Holiday Inn Resort, Island Sun Pictures, Sarafina Kaloran, Kalko Kaltapau, VBTC, Capital FM107, Daily Post, Buzz FM98, along with participating tourism businesses from Tanna, Espiritu Santo, Efate, and Malekula.
