Vanuatu Made Trade Show 2024 showcases innovation and creativity

The 2024 Vanuatu Made Trade Show, currently underway, is showcasing the introduction of new and innovative products by local producers. Each year, the event encourages producers to think creatively and bring something fresh to the market, with this year being no exception.

Tonny Tamata, Communications Officer for Vanuatu Made 2024, noted the importance of showcasing the producers and their products firsthand. “We are often amazed by the ingenuity of our local producers and the range of products they are able to create,” Tamata said.

The Trade Show, now in its sixth edition since the brand’s launch in 2019, offers a diverse range of exhibits, including creative industries like weaving, painting, and a much-anticipated fashion show.

Additionally, this year’s event is incorporating agricultural producers, emphasising the connection between Vanuatu’s locally grown agricultural products and the Vanuatu Made brand.

Tamata explained, “This year’s theme is about embracing the creativity and innovation of our producers while adapting to changes in the business environment. As a nation vulnerable to various challenges, it is important for our producers to be equipped with the skills and standards needed to adapt to these changes.”

He mentioned that this year’s event is one of the largest so far, with more entertainment lined up, including performances by various groups and bands.

The fashion show, traditionally a smaller event, has been upgraded to one of the biggest platforms for local designers in Vanuatu.

In addition to the displays and entertainment at Feiawa Park, the Trade Show features demonstrations of how products are manufactured, including industrial and cosmetic production processes. Notably, permit holders will demonstrate the use of industrial appliances, such as welding equipment.

The event is free and open to everyone, including schools and members of the public. Special visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the facilities of key producers like Tusker and the Vanuatu Bureau of Standards, offering a closer look at how these products are manufactured.
