Pacific Link Limited offers Starlink services

Pacific Link Limited has announced its latest innovation in satellite internet, becoming an active reseller of Starlink services to deliver high-speed, low-latency broadband connectivity across Vanuatu

Located in Luganville, Santo, Pacific Link is a Low Earth Orbit (LEO) reseller and was granted licence a Starlink license by the Telecommunications, Radio communications and Broadcasting Regulator (TRBR) last month.

Dragos Mihaila stated that they are excited to enhance Starlink services, enabling them to offer businesses with high-performance internet solutions tailored to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving digital landscape.

The company aims to provide high-speed satellite internet connections in Vanuatu, serving both rural and urban customers.

Mihaila outlined the Starlink information package, covering business plans, payment options, instalments, and maintenance support.

Tailored service plans for fixed sites

Pacific Link’s Starlink business plans offer high-speed internet for businesses and power users, with no long-term contracts and monthly payments. Prices are VAT-exclusive

The Business Essential Plan costs VT19,500 for 50GB of priority data with unlimited standard data.

The Business Professional Plan is VT51,500 for 1TB of priority data with unlimited standard data.

The Business Enterprise Plan is VT95,500 for 2TB of priority data with unlimited standard data.

Priority Data (PD) is prioritized for faster, consistent speeds during peak times. Once PD is used up, the user is transitioned to unlimited Standard Data for the remainder of the month, which may experience lower speeds compared to PD Users.

Payment options:

Payments can be made through ANZ and NBV accounts, service is on a pre-paid monthly basis. Customers needing extended credit can opt for one-month deposit equal to the service fee for a credit account.

Installation:

Installation will be made by certified Pacific Link technicians for an optimal setup and to activate our ongoing warranty and support services with a one-time fee of 30,000 VT (pending site assessment) within Port Vila and Luganville CBD. Additional fees may apply for sites outside these areas.

Key-plan benefits:

For key-plan benefits, these value-added services help businesses, especially in remote and rural areas, optimize their digital operations beyond just connectivity with Local Support with Priority assistance available 7 days a week, backed by local technicians.

There’s also Ongoing Extended Warranty, for installations completed by certified Pacific Link technicians; the warranty remains active as long as the service subscription is uninterrupted for 12 months or more.

Maintenance support:

In terms of maintenance support, the provided benefits which include local support has an on-site Network Diagnostic Fee of VT5,000.

Mihaila noted that their service includes email support and resolution of issues related to the internet link provided up to the Starlink WiFi router Ethernet port.

“When a fault is reported and customer assistance with testing, as instructed by us, is unavailable—essential for gaining full visibility into the potential issue—we will dispatch a technician for an on-site assessment.

“The On-Site Network Diagnostic fee will apply if, upon inspection, we confirm that the internet link is functioning as expected at the WiFi router and that the issue lies within the customer’s network beyond this point, which is outside our scope of service.”

He added that the fee covers diagnostic services only and does not include fixing the issue unless it is quickly identified and requires only a minor adjustment.

“For more extensive issues, we will inform the customer and seek approval before proceeding with any further work.

“Additionally, our ongoing extended warranty provides peace of mind for faulty parts related to installations completed by certified Pacific Link technicians.

“The warranty remains active as long as the service subscription is uninterrupted for 12 months or more.

“There are no fees associated with parts replacement on the terminal, up to the parts originally supplied, within Port Vila and Luganville CBD. Fees will apply to cover travel-related expenses for sites outside these areas.”

The service fee is based on an hourly rate of VT4,000 within Port Vila and Luganville CBD. Additional fees will apply to cover travel-related expenses for sites outside these areas.

Response time:

Mihaila said they aim to respond to reported faults within half a day, 7 days a week, during business hours. Rest assured, we will be in touch to provide support as quickly as possible.

“To further support your network, we offer a fully managed network service for a fixed monthly fee. A quotation will be provided once the scope and specific details are agreed upon with the customer,” he added.

“For businesses that rely on an uninterrupted internet connection, we recommend implementing both a primary and secondary connection to ensure continuous support for your operations.”
