iCount Limited (Ltd) has donated VT1,000,000 to Vila Central Hospital (VCH) in celebration of the hospital’s 50th Golden Jubilee.
On Monday, 11 August, iCount Limited Managing Director Mr. Daniel Agius, accompanied by his wife, Kwanchanok Mann, presented the cheque to Dr Robert Vocor, Acting Medical Superintendent, and Dr Nelson Tanghwa, Chairman of the VCH 50 Years Golden Jubilee Committee.
At the handover, Mr. Agius showed his appreciation for the dedication and hard work of the hospital’s medical team.
“We are thankful to the Vila Central Hospital medical team for their tireless efforts in helping the people of Vanuatu during critical moments and for their service to the community,” he said.
He added that iCount Ltd, known for its support of education and sports, is also committed to causes in the medical field and hopes to continue backing VCH in the future.
“It is for those who can help, to support those who will help us — the doctors, nurses, and health workers who save lives,” Mr. Agius said.
The donation is part of ongoing efforts by VCH and its partners to improve medical facilities, celebrate the hospital’s milestone, and strengthen healthcare delivery in Vanuatu.
Dr Vocor thanked iCount Ltd for their generosity, noting that the hospital has made recent improvements.
“We are grateful for this donation. In recent months, we have established an Intensive Care Unit and introduced new equipment, including a mammogram and a Computed Tomography (CT) scan. This support will help us continue to strengthen our services for the people of Vanuatu,” Dr Vocor said.
The VCH Golden Jubilee celebrations will run for three days — Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday — featuring a programme of events marking the hospital’s 50 years of service to the community.
