Digicel Vanuatu announced a boost to its enterprise offerings with the launch of Digicel Pacific Starlink Enterprise Internet on Wednesday, 4 December 2024.
“This new service provides businesses with high-speed, innovative connectivity, empowering our enterprise customers to meet their growing demands,” Digicel conveyed via a statement yesterday.
Digicel Pacific Starlink Enterprise Internet will complement Digicel Vanuatu’s existing suite of enterprise solutions.
Digicel Regional Pacific Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Shally Jannif, commented; “Working with Starlink positions us as a leader in enterprise connectivity solutions. Digicel Pacific is delivering on our promise to provide cutting-edge solutions to our enterprise customers in Vanuatu who will gain access to Starlink’s advanced technology, ensuring they stay ahead in today’s digital age.”
Starlink Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites offer a significant advantage over traditional GEOsatellites due to their proximity to Earth.
This constellation configuration results in reduced latency and enhanced data throughput.
As a result, LEO satellites are ideal for applications that demand low latency connectivity, such as video conferencing and IoT applications.
Digicel Vanuatu CEO, Gary Sue Fong, said; “Satellites have revolutionised communication, and now, LEO satellites are taking it to the next level. Our Starlink Enterprise Internet plans offer businesses flexible and reliable connectivity.”
“We’ve rigorously tested Starlink and are confident in its ability to deliver exceptional performance for businesses in need of reliable internet connectivity outside of traditional coverage areas,” added Fong.
Digicel Vanuatu is leveraging Starlink to deliver high-speed internet to underserved areas, where traditional connectivity is limited.
Digicel Pacific Starlink Enterprise Internet is offered by Digicel Vanuatu based on its parent company Telstra’s reseller agreement with Starlink. Enterprise customers can contact the Digicel team to order a Starlink kit designed for easy self-installation, with Digicel Vanuatu technicians available for support as needed.
