Local entrepreneur Lopez Adams has returned home following a successful business trip to China, bringing with him renewed confidence, expanded networks, and fresh opportunities aimed at elevating Vanuatu’s business landscape.
Mr. Adams said the trip was “a turning point” in shaping the next phase of his company’s growth, with strong potential for expansion into the Chinese market as early as 2026.
“This trip has boosted not only my business opportunities but also my willingness to grow beyond current boundaries,” Adams said. “China’s market is vast, dynamic, and open to collaboration. I believe the time is right to explore expanding there in 2026.”
During his visit, Adams engaged with a variety of Chinese business leaders and institutions, many of whom expressed interest in forming long-term partnerships with Ni-Vanuatu entrepreneurs. He emphasised that these relationships could provide knowledge, technology transfer, and valuable experience for local business people.
“I’m working on a project right now that aims to involve more local business owners,” Adams explained. “The goal is to help them gain exposure and experience in partnering with Chinese companies. The Chinese business community has shown a genuine willingness to support Vanuatu to flourish.”
He described the environment he encountered in China as highly supportive and forward-looking, noting that the country’s emphasis on innovation and efficiency could offer significant benefits to Vanuatu’s emerging sectors.
The outcomes of this recent business trip, he added, will be instrumental in developing new avenues for growth, trade, and investment that could strengthen both local businesses and the broader national economy.
“The opportunities presented to us are far greater than expected,” Adams said. “What I’ve learned and the connections we’ve built will not only help boost my own ventures but also create pathways for other Ni-Vanuatu entrepreneurs.”
As Adams continues refining his expansion plans and building a collaborative network between Vanuatu and China, he remains optimistic that this new direction will inspire more local businesses to think globally.
