The local restaurant section at the Port Vila Central Market has officially reopened, welcoming back both residents and visitors.
The entire market complex was closed for several months following damage from the December 2024 earthquake.
While the main market floor reopened in July 2025, the food section required specialised repairs and replacement parts, which caused a slight delay.
Recent updates from the Port Vila City Council (PVCC) confirm that all necessary repairs have been completed, and the popular eating area is now operational.
Market “mama vendors’’ are now serving a full menu of traditional Vanuatu dishes and fresh island flavours.
