The Vanuatu Tourism Office (VTO) has hosted an International Market Forum to present market insights and marketing plans for the next five months of 2024.
Over 70 tourism operators, government stakeholders, and officials gathered to discuss the future of Vanuatu’s tourism industry on Thursday, 25th of July.
The forum, held in the wake of the announcement of new aviation carriers, aimed to capitalise on the emerging opportunities.
The VTO shared valuable market feedback, offered suggestions for industry involvement, and outlined strategies for destination marketing to the international marketplace.
“This is a moment in time for Vanuatu, and as a destination, we need to take full advantage of the new aviation carriers. After a turbulent year, Vanuatu needs to make sure we do everything right to win back the international market’s trust and confidence,” said Adela Issachar Aru, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of VTO.
CEO Aru emphasised the importance of strong partnerships.
“The VTO has developed strong partnership plans with the travel trade and aviation partners to help grow visitation and launch the services from market to the destination,” she said.
“We also have a big job to do in educating consumers and our partners on the many new ways they can travel to Vanuatu.”
Highlighting the importance of providing an exceptional visitor experience, International Market Representatives Jacquie Carson and Sarah Anderson added, “We need to make sure that we are providing a fantastic experience on the ground to ensure we get positive word of mouth with these new partners and their passengers. Sharing Vanuatu moments with friends and family is one of our strongest marketing tools.”
The VTO reported excellent feedback on the forum and the information shared. The event was also streamed to enable tourism operators from around Vanuatu to participate.
VTO thanked the tourism industry for their participation and cooperation.
“We continue to receive continuous support and partnership from the Government of Vanuatu, our donor partners, New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and our aviation partners in supporting all the recovery work we are delivering in the market,” the VTO stated.
With the collaborative efforts and strategic plans discussed at the forum, Vanuatu is poised to strengthen its position as a premier destination for international travelers.
