Tove Eats Ltd appoints Craig Wakefield as new GM

Tove Eats Limited, operating under the name Tove Foods, has officially appointed Craig Wakefield as their new General Manager (GM).

With over 20 years of experience in the butchery industry, Wakefield was previously instrumental in establishing the ABM Butchery in Vanuatu and most recently led the Dynamic Butchery, and he will be assuming his new role on May 11, 2025.

Tove Foods owner, Julian Ligo, highlighted the importance of strong leadership during this pivotal time as the company prepares to launch its meat shop.

“Craig’s extensive background in butchery, combined with his expertise in supply chain management and customer relations, makes him the perfect fit to lead Tove Foods,” Ligo stated.

According to Mr. Ligo, Tove Foods also has ambitious plans for expansion beyond Port Vila, including the establishment of distribution centres in other major towns across Vanuatu to increase product accessibility. The company also plans to diversify its offerings by introducing new products, such as ready-to-eat meals and specialty items.

It was also stated that to bolster these initiatives, Tove Foods will partner with the Vanuatu Cooperative Business Network (VCBN) to develop an export facility. Mr. Ligo emphasised that Tove Foods currently has export pathways for all products into the Australian market.

“We are eager to work with VCBN or the Government to share this information and support them in building these pathways. My company has held this information for over six years, yet no one thought it important to approach us,” he said.

“I can provide a market for any commodity and the necessary pathways, only if you are willing to listen and cooperate. It has been 45 years without a properly completed export pathway, which suggests a lack of effective planning.”

Additionally, renovations on the VCBN Meat Shop are underway, and Tove Foods expects to open this facility in May 2025.

As the main distributor for Tove Eats Ltd products, Tove Foods is set for growth with these strategic leadership changes and expansion plans. The company is confident that these initiatives will enhance operational success and improve service delivery to customers.
