The Recovery Operation Centre (ROC) has issued a warning to the public in Port Vila and on Efate regarding restricted access to the Central Business District (CBD).
The ROC states that entry into these areas is strictly prohibited. Authorities have observed numerous unauthorised individuals and vehicles entering the restricted zones without valid access passes.
Only business owners, managers, or supervisors with an ROC Access Pass are permitted to enter the CBD to inspect their premises. Police are aware of the situation, and strict measures are now in place. Anyone attempting to enter the restricted areas without permission will face arrest and prosecution.
The restriction will remain until safety is assured. Entry into buildings will only be allowed after a safety certificate is issued by the Public Works Department.
