The Director General (DG) of the Ministry of Trade and Commerce (MOTC) has announced the commitment made between the Vanuatu Government and Royal Caribbean Cruises to approve and stock onboard Vanuatu Made products for ships sailing from Sydney to Brisbane this summer.

“This initiative demonstrates the cruise line’s support for Vanuatu’s economy and the appreciation of Royal Caribbean guests for the nation,” said DG Jimmy Rantes.

“We look forward to the cruise’s arrival at the delivery ports of Mystery Island and Port Vila from November 21 to 25 this year, where Organic Paradise will supply chocolate, coffee, lemongrass, tamanu and sandalwood soap, Tusker, citrus oil, and kava-based soaps—a total of 507 Vanuatu Made items.”

DG Rantes also announced that the upcoming seventh edition of the Vanuatu Made Trade Show will become an international event by expanding business engagements.

“The Ministry of Trade and Commerce will elevate the next edition of the Vanuatu Made platform to an international show, collaborating with overseas businesses and our Vanuatu Made producers,” he said.

The DG elaborated on the work done by authorities established to provide accessible services, such as business registration with the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission, business licensing in SHEFA Province, government cashier services, industrial permits, and commercial agriculture loans from the National Bank of Vanuatu.

“I would like to express my gratitude to the Minister, the High Commissioners of Australia and New Zealand in Vanuatu, the Public Service Commission, and the Ministries of Trade, Agriculture, and Finance, as well as the sponsors and partners who have supported the development sector,” he said.
