P&O Cruises Australia has reaffirmed its commitment to the people of Vanuatu with a generous donation to the Vanuatu Society for People with Disabilities (VSPD).

The cruise line recently donated 36 brand new walkers, valued at over VT900,000, which arrived in Port Vila aboard the Pacific Adventure on Sunday, 15 September.

The walkers are set to improve the mobility and independence of people with disabilities in Vanuatu. Elison Bovu, Executive Director of the VSPD, thanked P&O Cruises Australia for the contribution.

“This donation will make a substantial difference to the lives of people with disabilities in Vanuatu, and we can’t thank P&O Cruises Australia enough for their support,” Mr. Bovu said.

Peter Little, Senior Vice President of P&O Cruises Australia, highlighted the company’s connection to Vanuatu, a popular cruise destination for Australian travellers.

“Vanuatu is a favourite cruise destination for Australians, largely due to the warm welcome our guests receive from locals. P&O Cruises Australia is committed to giving back to Vanuatu, and this is one of many ways we support the community,” he said.

P&O’s vessels, the Pacific Adventure and Pacific Encounter, regularly visit Vanuatu, bringing approximately 3,000 guests each trip to experience the natural beauty of the South Pacific Island.

These ships will continue their visits after being rebranded as Carnival Adventure and Carnival Encounter when they officially join the Carnival family in March 2025. Carnival has pledged to maintain its support for Vanuatu’s charitable initiatives well into the future.

This donation represents the cruise line’s ongoing commitment to supporting local communities, particularly those in need, as they continue to visit Vanuatu’s ports with goodwill and generosity.
