Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu, as part of the renowned InterContinental Hotel Group (IHG) has been contributing actively to foster community and sporting excellence in Vanuatu.
The resort has been a signifigant supporter of various sports disciplines.
General Manager (GM) Rashmi Tulsiana said the resort has been instrumental in sponsoring key teams such as the national men’s and wowen’s cricket teams and federations such as the Vanuatu Aquatics Federation and the Vanuatu Tennis Federation since 2019.
She said their support extends beyond financial assistance to offering their top-notch facilities, like their pool and tennis courts, for training and development of athletes, particularly in the lead-up to major events like the Pacific Games.
“Holiday Inn Resort’s involvement in community initiatives transcends sports sponsorship. The resort is an active participant in the “Journey to Tomorrow,” a 10-year program initiated by the InterContinental Hotel Group.
“This ambitious initiative focuses on creating positive impacts across five key areas: promoting diversity and inclusion, supporting communities through skills training and disaster support, reducing carbon and energy footprints, pioneering minimal waste in the hospitality industry, and conserving water.
“In September 2023, the resort showcased its commitment to social responsibility by supporting the Vanuatu Women’s Centre for Crisis with personal hygiene packs, and the Vanuatu Society for People with Disability, emphasizing inclusivity and employment opportunities for individuals with special abilities,” Tulsiani stated.
GM Tulsiana said the resort also played a pivotal role in broadcasting the 2023 Solomon’s Pacific Games and partnered with Animals Vanuatu Association to support the establishment of a veterinary clinic.
“The underlying objectives of Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu’s sponsorships and community support initiatives are profound. Recognizing the transformative power of sports, the resort aims to offer youth avenues for positive engagement, discipline, and personal growth.
“These efforts are not just about fostering sporting talents but also about steering the younger generation away from detrimental paths. The resort’s commitment extends to all facets of community engagement, focusing on supporting the underprivileged and upholding values of compassion and empathy, “she said.
Holiday Inn Resort is set to add another feather to its cap by hosting a gala dinner for the UB40 band, showcasing Vanuatu’s rich culture and culinary excellence.
Tulsiani conveyed that this event epitomizes the resort’s approach to sponsorship, which combines financial assistance, promotional activities, and leveraging their resources and facilities to enhance cultural and sporting developments.
Holiday Inn Resort Vanuatu stands as a beacon of community support and development. Through its various sponsorships and initiatives, the resort not only contributes to the advancement of sports and community welfare but also sets a benchmark for corporate social responsibility in the hospitality.
