Vanuatu Agricultural Supplies (VAS), a long-established business in Port Vila, reached a significant milestone yesterday with the official opening of its new premises.
The grand opening included a special programme and a 20% discount on store items, attracting attention from the local community.
The family-owned business, led by Managing Directors Benjamin and Warrick Sams, celebrated this achievement with pride.
Speaking on behalf of the company, Benjamin Sams shared that VAS was founded in July 1983 and has been serving the agricultural industry for 41 years.
Reflecting on the company’s journey, he expressed his delight in seeing the business transition to a brand-new building, which has been under construction since November 2022 and officially opened on 14 October 2024.
“We are incredibly pleased with the successful opening of our new building, which would not have been possible without the hard work of our dedicated staff,” Benjamin said.
He emphasised the company’s strong workforce, with 40 employees in Port Vila and 11 in their Santo branch.
Over the years, VAS has employed more than 100 people, playing a significant role in supporting agriculture in the region.
Benjamin attributed the company’s success to its commitment to quality products, reliable services, and the continued support of its loyal customers.
“The product range we offer is important to us, providing backup services for all our machinery. However, the real secret to our success is the dedication of our staff,” he added.
The new VAS building, located in the Manples area, will now serve as the company’s main operational base, replacing their old premises.
In a heartfelt gesture, Benjamin and Warrick dedicated the new building to their parents, Beverly and Allan Sams, who founded the business.
The opening of the new facility marks the beginning of a new chapter for VAS, further establishing its place as a key player in the agricultural sector.
