On the request of the Vanuatu Daily Post (VDP), the Australian High Commission (AHC) has funded three sets of high-quality recording devices to boost news reporting capabilities.
Australia’s Deputy High Commissioner Ms Emily Fisher presented the new media equipment to VDP’s News Coordinator Mr. Mavuku Tokona on 3 January 2025.
The DJI 2 wireless microphones provided are one of the latest technologies on the market. They deliver exceptional sound quality, perfectly suited for the fast-paced media landscape.
“Australia has a long history of supporting Pacific media, including in Vanuatu,” said Deputy High Commissioner Fisher at the handover. “We are pleased to be able to support Vanuatu Daily Post’s request to provide these wireless microphones, to enhance the national paper’s capability to capture stories in excellent quality.”
Ms Fisher also acknowledged the commitment and dedication of Mr. Tokona and the VDP team to ensuring accurate news reporting and encouraging meaningful public discourse.
The Australian High Commission’s support is part of Australia’s broader support for media development in the Pacific, recognising the importance of independent, professional media and access to trusted and reliable news across the region.
