The owner of Rorona Takeaway, located opposite Tana Russet Plaza in Port Vila, has appealed to a local fisherman for refund after accidentally paying twice for the same fish.

The Daily Post was informed that the incident occurred last week when a regular customer brought a blue fish to Chinese takeaway for sale.

The fisherman initially sold the fish to a female staff member, receiving VT12,600. He then approached the shop’s owner Zheng Meiyu, who also paid him another VT12,600 for the same fish before walking away.

It was not until minutes later that the staff realized they had paid a total of VT25,200 for the same fish. They mentioned that the fisherman had sold fish to them multiple times before, but was not recognized.

The shop owner Meiyu is requesting that the fisherman return the extra VT12,600.

She has CCTV footage of the fishermen, and the police have been informed about the incident.
