Launch of Vanuatu’s first Commercial Agriculture Business and Export Permits today

Vanuatu’s first Commercial Agriculture Business Permit and Agriculture Export Permit will be officially launched this morning in Luganville, Santo.
The Minister responsible for the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock, Forestry, and Biosecurity (MALFB), Ian Wilson, will deliver the keynote address and officiate the launch at Unity Park, under the theme “Transforming agriculture for economic growth.”
The Secretary General of the SANMA Provincial Government Council (SPGC), Jonathan Iavere, and MALFB Director General Timothy Tumukon will also speak at the event.
A key tour of stakeholder booths is scheduled from 11:30am to 12:00pm, featuring engagements with farmers, island traders, vendors, and exporters involved in the Commercial Agriculture Business Permit system.
From 1:00pm onwards, awareness activities will focus on the application process for permits, compliance requirements, available incentives, and support services. The event will conclude at 4:00pm with a summary of key outcomes by the Director of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), Antoine Ravo.
