‘What to Do’ tourism guide relaunches with exciting new features

The ‘What to Do’ tourism guide, Vanuatu’s premier resource for tourists, is making a highly anticipated return in January 2025.

This latest edition is a combined print and digital experience, ensuring visitors have access to everything they need to explore Vanuatu’s vibrant culture, attractions, and local businesses.

The new What to Do will feature six strategically positioned touch screens, placed in high-traffic areas frequented by tourists, including hotel reception areas, the airport, and tourist information centers.

Each screen will provide up-to-date information on local activities, places to dine, shopping locations, and wellness services, conveniently accessible to visitors.

An optimized mobile app will be available on both the Google Play Store and Apple App Store and will offer tourists the latest updates with essential lists such as Tours & Activities, Dining Guide, Shopping Guide, and Health & Beauty services, ensuring easy access to everything Vanuatu has to offer.

The print edition will also be widely distributed across key tourist areas, offering a six-month shelf life from January to June 2025.

Alongside the essential guides, it will feature exclusive articles showcasing Vanuatu’s top attractions, Custom Stories, and a dedicated section on locally made Vanuatu products—providing a great platform for local manufacturers to advertise their products to tourists.

Peter Stadly, Director of Business Development at Vanuatu Daily Post, the publishers of What to Do, expressed excitement over the relaunch: “We are thrilled to bring back What to Do, which was hugely successful pre-COVID in providing the tourism industry with an effective advertising platform. This new version is even better, combining print with digital capabilities through our app and touch screens.

There’s a lot of optimism in the tourism sector right now, with Qantas offering direct flights from Brisbane and Jetstar about to start flights from Sydney, alongside Virgin, Solomon Airlines, Fiji Airways, and Air Calin.”

With its combined print and digital format, What to Do is set to be Vanuatu’s most comprehensive and accessible resource for tourists, continuing its legacy as a trusted guide while providing new opportunities for businesses to reach a global audience.
