Starlink draws kava drinkers

Ronnie’s Nakamal in Nambatu, a popular spot for kava drinkers, is now offering free Wi-Fi internet access to its regular customers, thanks to a new collaboration with Pacific Link.

The introduction of Starlink services is a welcome addition for those who enjoy unwinding with a shell of kava while staying connected to online entertainment and communication.

Owner of Ronnie Nakamal said the initiative was brought to him by Pacific Link, who approached the venue to trial this new service. Pacific Link, the licensed provider of Starlink services in Vanuatu, set up the necessary equipment and handled the licensing agreements.

In a statement, Ed McGuire, a representative from Pacific Link, said: “Pacific Link Vanuatu is licensed to resell telecommunications services both in Vanuatu and abroad. The Ronnie’s Nakamal hotspot is fully licensed and operated by Pacific Link.”

This move to bring Wi-Fi to the bar is designed to enhance the experience for regular kava drinkers, offering them seamless internet access as they relax.

Upon purchasing a shell of kava, customers are given a coupon with an access code for weekly or monthly subscriptions, allowing them to stay connected throughout their visit.

Ronnie shared positive feedback from customers: “They’ve mentioned that the internet strength is excellent, and information is easily accessible,” he said. “We believe this service adds real value to our current offerings, and we’re expecting an increase in new customers as a result.”
