Government to handle demolition, business owners must reimburse costs

Prime Minister (PM) Jotham Napat has issued a strong warning to private businesses, urging them to align with government directives.

He said any business failing to comply with these regulations’ risks having its land seized and buildings demolished. Additionally, property owners who lose their land will be required to reimburse the government before reclaiming their property.

Napat emphasised the urgency of his directive, stating that he wants the city to be fully open by next week, not in July. To achieve this, he called on the private sector to work with the government in addressing any obstacles that could delay progress. He also mentioned that the government is willing to assist with the demolition of buildings where necessary.

According to the PM, discussions on this issue must remain open and transparent, as no single building should be allowed to obstruct the development and reopening of the city. He stressed that businesses must cooperate to ensure smooth urban development and avoid unnecessary delays.

Furthermore, Napat made it clear that the government holds the authority to cancel land leases if property owners fail to meet development requirements. He warned that those who are unable to comply will have their leases revoked, and they will need to secure funds to compensate the government before reclaiming their property.

The PM assured the public that the government is prepared to invest in infrastructure and urban development projects to ensure compliance and maintain order.
